Cornflower September Update
Sending Big Heart Love to All of You who are reading this! What a Summer! Joshua Tree Music Festival in May, opening for Michael Franti & Spearhead in June, High Sierra Music Festival & Wanderlust Festival in July, Peace Village Festival in August, and finally the month of September with The Gathering of the Peacemakers, The One Love Festival, my debut at the OSF Green Show (filling in last minute for a cancelled performance) and then this past weeks Arkayik Revival with Alcyon Massive and friends. Next up is the "official" OSF Green Show debut, and then Earthdance Northern California.
Gathering of the Peacemakers & The One Love Festival can be summed up into one word, Heart. These two events were born out of the deep magnetism of our Heart's call to unconditional love and union with the One. Hosted by Robert & Julia Roskind through their One Love Foundation, and included some of the top Conscious Music artists of the West Coast w/ Freedom, Alcyon Massive & SkipWicked of Indubious, Human, Synrgy, Rocker T, Jeff Pevar and many more. I am so grateful to have been included. Big ups to Evton B of Indubious for catalyzing this amazing event.
The OSF Green Show, which started out as a last minute cancellation due to Hurricane Irene, became an amazing experience. Here's the skinny... I was invited to play in place of a dance troupe whose flight got delayed on the East Coast because of the storm. The OSF Green Show lies at the heart of Ashland's CBD. Nestled into the OSF Campus is this intimate mini-ampitheater within a courtyard. This show is presented for free for ticket holders & non-ticket holders alike before the evening performances begin. Before I knew it, the grassy lawn was packed and the courtyard began to fill up. What an amazing event... I ended up signing CD's & hats and selling a few cd's as well. Made some great connections and new fans. What a great place for music!
The Arkayik Revival was nothing short of EPIC! Alcyon Massive & Paul West organized an amazing event in Grants Pass at the Rogue Bowl in the middle of the RCC Campus. It brought together all of the close-knit, up and coming artists from Southern Oregon with a sprinkle of Eugene & Portland thrown in for good measure, to support Alcyon's vision and the celebrating the growing call for conscious music. Let's just say, the Bowl was PACKED! SkipWicked of Indubious, The Bound for Glory Band, The Fret Drifters featuring Andy Casad, Ras Cricket, Frankie Hernandez, Acoustic Minds, Michelle Bellamy and Agnes Baker Pilgrim of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz. It was a MASSIVE family affair. Pictures and videos will be available in the coming month.
Finally, here we are! What's up next! I am at the OSF Green Show on Monday September 19th @ 6:45PM (a 45-minute set). Click here for more info on the Green Show. Closing out September, I will be playing Earthdance Northern California for the second year in a row. My set at Earthdance will be at the Unity Stage on Saturday September 24th @ 5PM-6:15PM.
