Colab with Dancing People Company

I am so grateful to announce my upcoming collaboration with the Dancing People Company on their piece "Winter Ice" for their annual Solstice event titled 'Call Back The Sun'. In order to do this collaboration justice I have to backtrack and give some history. In December 2008 for Winter Solstice, I was blessed to perform alongside legendary guitarist Jeff Pevar and Vocalist and soul sister Inger Jorgensen on the song "Shine" for the Dancing People Company's performance of 'Shiny Night Sky'. That night I got to meet our local professional modern dance troupe. I was floored! They are incredible, and ever since then we have wanted to collaborate together on a piece for their Solstice performance Call Back The Sun. We have had a few collab's in the past but not for the Solstice. Robin Steihm, the Dancing People Company's director, contacted me and asked if I was ready this year. I said a BIG YES! We have taken their classic piece "Winter Shimmer and Swirl" which has been danced to Vivaldi's piece "Winter" and instead of me doing that version I have taken inspiration from it and created my very own new song to go with their performance which I have titled "Winter Reflections". I am so stoked for what has been created and for these performances.

'Call Back The Sun' performances are Saturday December 20th at 7:30pm and Sunday December 21st at 2pm and 7:30pm located at the Historic Ashland Armory. Come celebrate the Winter Solstice with myself, the Dancing People Company and our community of dancing friends and local live musicians as we celebrate the darkest day of the year, and the return to the Light.

Tickets are on sale now at www.dancingpeople.com or at the Music Coop on Main St. in Ashland.
